Smothered Mate

In the most common Smothered Mate, the knight captures the f7 pawn.

This forces the black king to move to g8.

Then, the knight moves to h6 to create a double check!

If the king moves to f8, Qf7 is checkmate!

So, the king moves to h8.

The best part of the checkmate is the queen sacrifice!

The rook or knight have to take the queen, and when they do, the game is about to end.

The game ends with Nf7#, with the black king surrounded by his own army!

Smothered Mates are rare, but they're pretty cool if you can make one!
